We went to pizza and pool tonite. I got some work done on the house, finally painted the hallway upstairs after painting the last of the kids rooms. Now for the floor in the hallway...it'll be a big pain making all those pieces fit, and dealing with the baseboard and the moulding and the doorways (1 2 3 4 5 6 of them). then we can do carpet in the kids rooms...a new skill I get to learn. and figure out how to fix the leak in our room and put carpet or something in it, but first probably have to redo the bathroom floor which was alway crappy and on and on.
I got some new books recently, the guy in Oz who I sold the subframe to bought me some hot rod books on ebay, they're great...and I got Consilience by Wilson, about how we humans are actually gonna figure out how we work...sometime.
Although I kind of had the idea that we would, because I've been reading up on some of the fields of study, such as evolution, cosmology, how the mind works, and some ideas on how and why people get religion. This last is really at the cutting edge right now, there are some rather different hypotheses floating around, but the gist of it is that religion is a byproduct of how our minds have evolved to work for us as social animals.
And what's wierd is how in the very recent times people have been allowed to live in society without buying into the religious bs...in some societies, that is. Ours is still iffy in some ways, just try running for president (or senator) if you admit to not beliving in all that rot.
oh well, back to reading...
