1/1 newyears day - 1030pm
it's the first day of the new calendar year...whoopie! Some of us stayed up last night and watched the clocks change and drank apple cider.
I watched the Datum clock go from day 366 hour 24 minute 59 second 59 to day 001 00 00 00. what a blast!
We went for a short hiking expedition today, which involved more driving than hiking...all 5 of us took the doggie down to the river and walked a couple miles. We even walked around the little beaver pond, and saw how well they chew down trees! there are little fences around the bottoms of some trees so they won't get cut down, and around some branches stuck into the ground that might supposed to be gonna grow into trees. I think they're mostly all cottonwoods, maybe that planting technique works for them?
basketball game tomorrow for me and oldes son...should be entertaining....
We did the new years day thing today and took apart the fake tree, right on schedule.
And oddly enough, we didn't even go out for eats once today! yesterday the kid's friend and his gf took me and kid out for lunch, in payment for help with science project. That was nice of them! we still have more work to do on it to mount it all and connect the pistons to a crankshaft of some sort, then see if it even works.
school starts up again monday...wow, time to myself again! it'll be so nice and quite and boring around here....
we heard from the mortgage co this week, we'll probably get the new loan done in about 2 weeks, then I'll have to get in gear and do some construction. Nice time of year for it...well, maybe. At least it's not usually very windy here in January, although some times it rains a lot, and that seems to be the case this year as storms are lined up off the west coast waiting to blow over us. The last one hit pretty hard just north of here, but we didn't even get any puddles from the rain.
