8/14 - 10pm

wow, I'm getting lazy...didn't get up till noonish today. Although I did wake up earlier, but I can't talk about that ;)

I saw one of the neighbors in our yard about 4, so I went and talked to him for a while, and we wound up walking over to his house which is about a quarter mile away. He's built a few houses over the years, lived in the one while building the next, then moving and selling the old one. He's just about done with the latest, it's a monster, something like 4000 sq ft, real nice inside. But since he's 76 yrs old he's also thinking about getting rid of some of the stuff he has that he thinks he probably won't use any more, and one of those things is one of his two bulldozers. So, I need to buy it, of course. It's a 1947 International TD-9, with quite a bit of home made stuff on it, such as the blades and all the hydrualics. And he says one of the clutches is stuck, so it only turns right. fun. But for $1000...it's just what we don't need, to try to keep the road somewhat free of puddles, etc.

it was cool today, what a change! Also the neighbor said he'd been keeping rough track of the rain, and he measured about 8" over the past few weeks.
