We made it home ok...nice long boring drive across the CA and AZ deserts, near the southern border. I8 is better than having to go thru the outskirts of L.A. to get home, we don't have to deal with phx traffic.
it's geekorama riding in the car with my two brothers...one of them brought a portable radio station with him, plugged his ipod into it so we could listen to some of his muzak. fun stuff. He doesn't have a "normal" little transmitter, the one he has used to be at a cable TV company squirting an FM radio channel onto the cable that goes to all those homes. But it works fine in the car by just connecting the output to a length of wire (the transmit antenna). I think the output is pretty low level, when we got withing a couple miles of a radio station on the same frequency the one in the car got blotted out. oh yeah...it has a 115v plug on it, so it was plugged into the AC inverter that was plugged into the cigarette lighter hole.
I guess wife had fun on her trip, there are pics somewhere on the internet, I need to find them and see how it went.
oh, there they are....neat! (no, you don't get to see)
now I need to spend a couple days laying around to recover from having so much fun.
