2/20 - midnight or so

what a long day. I went to the place with Steving today to help work on the robot. It has to be on a truck headed out on Tuesday...and this morning it was in a billion pieces and the guys were wondering how to make it lose about 20 more pounds of "fat". They didn't keep track of how much all the parts weigh, so it was way over the limit when it was all together and they finally decided to check it.

I spent about 12 hours or so using various machines to whittle aluminum and steel...

The students are allowed to get "adults" to help make stuff, it's kind of a necessity since there's no shop class at many schools these days, so they dont' really have an opportunity to learn how to safely and effectively run a lathe, milling machine, or some of the other stuff.. They do run the punch, drill press, grinder, shear, brake, and band saws, so they do a lot of work on it.

I'll probably spend tomorrow doing the same stuff, I suppose...and probably Tuesday too.
